The Landing Press project: an anthology of poems about generations.

Landing Press is a small not-for-profit Wellington publisher of poetry that many people can enjoy, with a social edge. It is committed to including voices not generally heard in New Zealand literature/publishing. Our previous three anthologies were poems about housing, poems by and about cleaners, and poems by migrants and former refugees. About a third of each collection is created through workshops and mentoring, working closely with social housing agencies, unions, cleaning companies etc. Our new anthology is on the theme of generations. It will be as diverse as possible, ethnically, socially, in terms of experiences and perspectives. But we are not only about publishing a book. We are about creating opportunities for new writers to read their work at events, see their work included in other mainsteam publications, and discover new skills and possibilities. Our experience tells us that writing a poem can be transforming.
